കേരളത്തിൽ അതിശക്തമായ മഴയ്ക്ക് സാധ്യതയുള്ളതിനാൽ വിവിധ ജില്ലകളിൽ ഓറഞ്ച്, യെല്ലോ അലേർട്ടുകൾ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. 2020 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 13 : കാസർഗോഡ്. ജില്ലയിൽ കേന്ദ്ര കാലാവസ്ഥ വകുപ്പ് ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ടയിടങ്ങളിൽ അതിശക്തമായ മഴക്കുള്ള സാധ്യത പ്രവചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. 24 മണിക്കൂറിൽ 115.6 mm മുതൽ 204.4 mm വരെ മഴ ലഭിക്കുമെന്നാണ് അതിശക്തമായ മഴ (Very Heavy) എന്നത് കൊണ്ട് കാലാവസ്ഥ വകുപ്പ് അർത്ഥമാക്കുന്നത്. കാലാവസ്ഥ വകുപ്പ് കാസർഗോഡ് ജില്ലയിൽ ഓറഞ്ച് അലേർട്ട് ആണ് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. 2020 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 13 : കൊല്ലം, പത്തനംതിട്ട, ആലപ്പുഴ, കോട്ടയം, എറണാകുളം, ഇടുക്കി, തൃശ്ശൂർ, പാലക്കാട്, മലപ്പുറം, കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട്, കണ്ണൂർ. 2020 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 14 : ആലപ്പുഴ, എറണാകുളം, ഇടുക്കി, തൃശ്ശൂർ, പാലക്കാട്, മലപ്പുറം, കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട്, കണ്ണൂർ, കാസർഗോഡ്. 2020 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 15 : ആലപ്പുഴ, എറണാകുളം, തൃശ്ശൂർ, മലപ്പുറം, കോഴിക്കോട്, വയനാട്, കണ്ണൂർ, കാസർഗോഡ് 2020 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 16 : തൃശ്ശൂർ, മലപ്പുറം, കോഴിക്കോട്, കണ്ണൂർ, കാസർഗോഡ്. 2020 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 17 : ആലപ്പുഴ, എറണാകുളം, തൃശ്ശൂർ, മലപ്പുറം, കോഴിക്കോട്, കണ്ണൂർ, കാസർഗോഡ്. എന്നീ ജില്ലകളിൽ ഈ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ കേന്ദ

ജൂൺ ജൂലൈ തിമിർത്തു പെയ്തു  ഓഗസ്റ്റ് സെപ്റ്റംബർ  ശക്തി കുറയുന്ന പഴയ കാലവർഷ മഴയുടെ സ്വഭാവം മാറുകയാണോ..??  സെപ്റ്റംബർ മാസത്തിൽ ശരാശരി മഴ 260 mm. സെപ്റ്റംബർ 12ഓടെ തന്നെ ഇത്തവണ 280 mm മറികടന്നു. 2019 ലും സെപ്റ്റംബർ 12ഓടെ  260 mm മറികടന്നു.  കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം  സെപ്റ്റംബർ മാസത്തിൽ ആകെ പെയ്തത് 426 mm, 64% അധികം.  കാലവര്ഷം ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അവസാനിക്കാൻ 18  ദിവസം ബാക്കി നിൽക്കേ  5 ജില്ലകൾ  സീസണിൽ മൊത്തത്തിൽ ലഭിക്കേണ്ട മഴ മറികടന്നു. കോഴിക്കോട്, കണ്ണൂർ, കോട്ടയം, തിരുവനന്തപുരം, കാസറഗോഡ് ജില്ലകളാണ് . മൺസൂൺ ശരാശരി മറികടന്നത്.  ജൂൺ 1 മുതൽ സെപ്റ്റംബർ 30 വരെ നീളുന്ന കാലവർഷത്തിൽ കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിൽ ലഭിക്കേണ്ട ശരാശരി മഴ 2577  mm ആണ്. ഇത്തവണ സെപ്റ്റംബർ 12 ആയപ്പോൾ തന്നെ അത്‌  2973 mm ആയി.  അതെ പോലെ തന്നെ കാസർഗോഡ്, കണ്ണൂർ, കോട്ടയം,തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലകളും മറികടന്നു.   2019ൽ സെപ്റ്റംബർ 12 ആയപ്പോൾ 8 ജില്ലകൾ  ശരാശരി മഴയെ മറികടന്നിരുന്നു. കഴിഞ്ഞ വർഷം കോഴിക്കോട്, പാലക്കാട്‌, കണ്ണൂർ, കാസറഗോഡ്, തൃശൂർ, കോട്ടയം  എറണാകുളം, മലപ്പുറം, എന്നീ ജില്ലകളാണ്  ശരാശരി മഴ സെപ്റ്റംബർ ആദ്യം തന്നെ മറികടന്നത്. 2018, 2019, 2020 വർഷത്തിൽ ഓഗസ്റ്റ്

Rainfall Forecast and Weather Warnings based on 0830 hours IST of today:  ♦ An off-shore trough at mean sea level runs from north Maharashtra coast to north Kerala coast. The east-west shear zone runs roughly along 15°N across the peninsular India in mid tropospheric levels and likely to persist during next 3-4 days.
